After being extinct in Canada for more than 75 years, black-footed ferrets have been reintroduced to the Canadian prairie. Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan was chosen for the release because it is native habitat for black-tailed prairie dogs, the ferrets' main prey species. Read the press release here.
